We were approached by the creative director at Thomas Pink to create a ‘White Paper Bar’ for their AW 2015 launch at London Fashion Week. The event was held at the ICA.
The purpose of the bar was to evoke the crispness of a new white shirt; a signature product of Thomas Pink. It also needed to function as a backdrop with which the models could interact.
Taking our cues from the venue itself, we designed and manufactured a traditional 30 ft brasserie-style ‘long bar’ bar from white luxury paper; with fine architectural detailing to complement the historic space. This was reinforced with a basic sub structure to add strength.
We wanted to play on the paper’s purity and its fragile and temporary nature in order to produce a delicate and detailed design. With this in mind we combined manual paper craft with computerised design and cutting processes to develop the bar, its details and also the lamps, paper vases, flowers, teacups, glasses and artwork that complemented the space.
The result; a beautiful, crisp white canvas that allowed models to bring ever changing colour and contrast to the scene.
